Wat is Google Site Kit?

Google Site Kit is een WordPress plugin waarmee je vier nuttige programma’s van Google aan je dashboard kan linken:

  • Google Adsense is een advertentieplatform van Google. Dit kan je gebruiken om geld met je site te verdienen
  • Google Analytics analyseert je website, toont je hoeveel verkeer je had in een bepaalde periode, welke pagina’s populair zijn, hoelang mensen op je site bleven, enzovoort
  • Google Search Console toont je hoe mensen je website vinden op Google, meer specifiek door welke zoektermen men je site vindt. Dit is zeer handig om je zoekwoordonderzoek te optimaliseren
  • Page Speed Insights laat je weten hoe snel je website laadt op je mobiele telefoon en desktop. Veel mensen verlaten sites die te traag laden, dus met deze info kan je de nodige aanpassingen doorvoeren

Alle vier zijn gratis te installeren en gebruiken. Iedereen die een blog heeft moet volgens mij sowieso gebruik maken van Analytics, PSI en Search Console, deze data is onmisbaar als je je blog wil verbeteren.

Zonder deze gegevens is het moeilijk om je site te optimaliseren, want je tast gewoon in het duister.

Site Kit is een van de beste plugins die je kan gebruiken voor je blog, en voorheen heb ik deze reeds besproken in mijn Top 6 WordPress Plugins.

Hoe kan je Google Site Kit installeren?

  1. Ga naar je WordPress Dashboard
  2. Plugins
  3. Nieuwe Plugin
  4. Zoek naar Site Kit
  5. Klik op Nu Installeren
  6. Activeren

Klik op Start Setup.

Nu moet je drie stappen doorlopen om Site Kit op te zetten.

  1. Bevestigen dat je eigenaar bent van je site
  2. Je site toelaten om Google account data te bemachtigen
  3. Google Search Console opzetten

Klik op Sign in with Google.

  • Selecteer een Google Account. Klik op Allow.
  • Verify site ownership: Proceed
  • Allow site to access Google Account data: Allow
  • Set up Search Console: Add site

Klaar! Site Kit is succesvol geïnstalleerd. Klik op Go to my Dashboard.

Je zal nu terug naar je WordPress dashboard worden omgeleid, waar je dit ziet:

Search Console is reeds geïnstalleerd, waarmee je kan zien hoe mensen je site vinden.

Om het meeste uit Site Kit te halen moet je ook Analytics en PageSpeed Insights installeren.

Voor dat laatste is het zo gemakkelijk als op Connect Service te klikken.

Bij Analytics moet je dit ook doen, maar eerst moet je Google Analytics opzetten.

Google Analytics installeren

  • Wat wil je meten? Web, Apps, of beide? Voor mij zal dit Web zijn
  • Geef je websitenaam in, de URL, de categorie, en de tijdzone. Klik op Create
  • Aanvaard de Terms of Service Agreement.
  • Nu word je naar je Analytics Dashboard gebracht
  • Ga terug naar je WordPress dashboard, Site Kit, Analytics
  • Klik op Connect Service
  • Kies de Google Account die je hebt gebruikt voor je Analytics, ga verder
  • Vul de benodigde informatie in en Create Account

En dat is het! Je hebt Analytics geïnstalleerd.

Zodra je wat verkeer begint te krijgen, kan je die informatie beknopt via Site Kit of meer gedetailleerd via je Analytics dashboard bekijken.

Google Adsense

Google Adsense is het advertentieprogramma van Google.

Google Site Kit samenvatting

Google Site Kit is een gratis WordPress plugin waarmee je Adsense, Analytics, Search Console and Page Speed Insights in je dashboard kan zien.

Dit is een enorm  handige plugin om te gebruiken want het toont je data die je nodig hebt om je website/blog te optimaliseren.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely.
